With under two weeks to head before the Xbox One’s launch on Friday, November 22, Microsoft has released a brand new video for the following-generation console, which touts the system’s ability to deliver “ultimate realism.”
The short video, released on YouTube today, introduces viewers to the Xbox One and its features, going as far to claim the console will deliver “cinematic gameplay that rivals Hollywood.” In this scene, a clip of Forza Motorsport 5 is shown.
The video also talks up multiplayer functionality for Xbox One, boasting that the system will offer “unrivaled multiplayer,” while chips of FIFA 14, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Titanfall are shown.
Beyond games, the Xbox One video speaks to the system’s live TV, movie, and sports functionality and integration. Microsoft has spoken previously about its ambition for the Xbox One to be the only device that powers entertainment within the lounge, a line the video ends on.
“Your entire games, all of your entertainment, multi function.”
A second video released today by Microsoft demonstrates the Xbox One’s ability to detect who’s sitting in front of the television automatically via Kinect after which adjust personalized content accordingly. Within the video, called “His and Hers,” a guy is shown watching a soccer match.
His girlfriend then appears behind him, and the Xbox One recognizes her by overlaying a message prompt reading “Hi Jennifer” while the soccer match continues uninterrupted. She then says, “Xbox, show my stuff” and her personalized dashboard appears.
The Xbox One launches on November 22 for $500.
