RetroN 5 delayed until 2014

Hyperkin’s retro gaming machine the RetroN 5 was delayed to Q1 2014.

Set to launch in December, the corporate found that some packaged units had faulty pins, and is now delaying the product to properly resolve the difficulty.

The RetroN 5 has slots for NES, SNES, GameBoy Advance, Genesis/Mega Drive, and Famicom cartridges, both NTSC and PAL, and contours its own Bluetooth controller alongside support for original NES, SNES, and Genesis peripherals.

Another key feature inside the retro device is its ability to output through HDMI, which might allow people a comparatively easy approach to play their old games on modern television sets.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” said product manager Lawrence Lee. “Hyperkin wish to thanks for each of the support you’ve given us in the course of the development of the RetroN 5. We’re anticipating its release, estimated to be in the first quarter of 2014, once the difficulty have been resolved.”
