Sony on PS4 launch — “We’re very, very confident”

With just days to move before the PlayStation 4 is released in North America, Sony has pop out to mention meeting analysts’ sales estimates of three million units by year-end won’t be a difficulty.

“We’re very ok with it,” SCEA CEO Jack Tretton told Bloomberg. “I’m concerned with next week on the way to discuss what was sold in place of what we may sell.”

Tretton added that Sony can have “adequate” supplies of the $399 PS4 during the holiday season. He also confirmed that Sony is sticking by its projection to sell 5 million PS4s by the tip of March, 2014.

“This can be a marathon, not a sprint, but getting out to a pleasing start is an effective thing,” Tretton said. “That hurdle have been cleared. We’re very, very confident we’re in great shape.”

The PS4 can be released in North America on November 15, followed by Europe on November 29. In all, the PS4 can be available in 32 countries worldwide in time for the vacations.
